How the Button Works in Logisim
The Button component models a physical momentary push-button switch. In normal operation its 1-bit output is Low (0); when you press it with the Poke tool it drives High (1), making it ideal for manual reset pulses, single-step triggers, and doorbell or keypad circuits.
Unlike an Input Pin, which latches into 1 or 0 until poked again, a Button is designed for momentary activation—such as pulsing the asynchronous RST line of a Counter or Register to clear stored state back to zero.
Tip: Wire a Button to the RST pin of your Counters and Registers so you can reset the entire sequential circuit with a single click.
